Job Title: Ranch Hand
Location: Alberton Orchards, Alberton, Montana
Compensation: $15.00 – $22.00 per hour (depending on experience)

We are seeking a hardworking and dedicated Ranch Hand to join our team and assist with the daily operations of the ranch.
Job Overview:
As a Ranch Hand at Alberton Orchards, you will play a key role in maintaining the day-to-day functions of our farm and ranch operations. Your responsibilities will include everything from caring for animals to performing general maintenance tasks. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, loves the outdoors, and is passionate about farming and ranching. No two days are the same, and the ideal candidate will be adaptable, reliable, and ready to take on a variety of tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Fencing: Install, repair, and maintain ranch fencing. Ensure that fences are secure and in good condition to keep animals safe and the property well-defined.
- Lawn Care: Perform regular lawn care tasks, including mowing, trimming, and landscaping. Keep the grounds well-maintained and presentable.
- Feeding Animals: Feed, water, and care for a variety of livestock. Monitor the health and well-being of animals, ensuring that they are properly nourished and tended to.
- Animal Care: Assist in animal husbandry tasks such as grooming, health checks, and basic medical care when necessary. Help with the movement and care of livestock.
- General Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks around the ranch, including repairing equipment, buildings, and other structures. Keep tools and machinery in working order and assist with troubleshooting any mechanical issues.
- Cleaning: Keep barns, stalls, and animal living spaces clean and sanitary. Ensure that ranch facilities are neat, organized, and in compliance with safety standards.
- Landscaping & Irrigation: Assist with maintaining crops, orchards, and pastures by monitoring irrigation systems and performing landscaping duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior experience in ranching, farming, or general outdoor maintenance is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
- Skills:
- Ability to operate farm equipment and machinery (tractors, mowers, etc.)
- Basic mechanical skills for equipment repair and maintenance
- Comfortable working with livestock and outdoor conditions
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (rain, snow, heat)
- Stamina for performing manual labor, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
